New Ulm Police

• Received an assault report at Riverbend Area Learning Center, 1315 S. Broadway at 11:54 a.m. Thursday. A 13-year-old New Ulm boy reportedly scratched and pinched a school staff member. Medical attention was not sought. A report for consideration of a fourth-degree assault charge was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office and to Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to a juvenile trouble report at Riverbend at 11:22 a.m. Thursday. A 21-year-old Winthrop male was reported throwing rocks outside the school, creating dents on a staff-owned 2022 GMC Sierra. Estimated damages were $4,977. A report for consideration of criminal damage to property was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received an animal complaint report at 9:44 a.m. Thursday about a dog hung up on a fence. The caller they saw an individual grab a husky dog aggressively and pinch it’s mouth. A report went to the police department animal control officer.

• Received a vehicle damage report at 8:33 a.m. Thursday. A 31-year-old New Ulm man said the rear window of his vehicle was cracked overnight. Damage was estimated at $450.

• An officer on patrol arrested and transported a 37-year-old New Ulm man to the Brown County Jail with a Mille Lacs County warrant found walking near Seventh Street North at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday. Reports went to the Minnesota Department of Corrections Probation and Brown County Probation.

• Received a report of a 16-year-old Lafayette student with a vape device on New Ulm High School property at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday. The boy was cited for vape device possession on school property.

• Received a juvenile trouble report of a 17-year-old Winthrop male student at Riverbend at 9:59 a.m. Wednesday. The boy was cited for possession of tobacco and cannabis on school property.
