New Ulm Police
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash without injuries at 5:52 p.m. Jan. 4 at 1009 N. Washington St. . A 2004 Pontiac driven by Robert Veit, 61, New Ulm backed out of a garage, crossed an alley and hit a garage. Vehicle damage was minor, moderate to the garage. Road conditions included snow and ice.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 3:50 p.m. Feb. 4 at 5th North and Highland. A 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Todd H. Schoof, New Ulm, was northbound on Highland when it collided with a 2011 Ford Transit Connect driven by Rolando C. Santiago, 48, Kansas City, Mo. who was westbound on 5th North and did not stop for a stop sign. Damage was moderate to the front end of both vehicles.
• Received an attempt to locate request from Nova House, 1310 German St. S. at 11:01 p.m. Feb. 4. Police searched for a 40-year-old St. Paul man into the evening. He returned unharmed to the group home at 8:50 a.m. Feb. 5.
• Received a scam/fraud report from Running’s, 2107 Garden St. N. at 12 p.m. Feb. 5. Employees said they received a phone call from a person claiming to be from Running’s corporate office, asking for $2,000. The caller said they’d call back with instructions on how to send the money. No money was exchanged. No reports were done.
