New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on snow and ice-packed 20th South and Broadway at 4:25 p.m. Thursday. A 1997 Dodge Ram driven by Brian L. Pfarr, New Ulm, was westbound on 20th Street South, merging right onto South Broadway, slowed to yield to traffic on Broadway when it was hit by a 2011 Chevy Impala driven by Joseph A. Guza, 34, Courtland, who was northbound on Broadway. Damage was minor to both vehicles. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on snow-packed 10th North and Washington at 7:29 a.m. Thursday. A 2017 GMC Yukon driven by Jill Berdan, 40, New Ulm, was northbound on Washington Street when it collided with a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven by James MIller, 36, New Ulm who was eastbound. Both drivers wore seat belts and said they couldn’t see each other due to high snow piles. Damage was minor to the GMC and moderate to the Chevrolet.

• Responded to a theft report at Vogel Field House, 122 Garden St. S. A woman reported at 6:51 a.m. Friday that a front passenger window was broken and a purse was stolen from a vehicle. Credit and bank cards plus about $10 in cash was reported taken.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on snow-packed roads at 6th North and Minnesota Street at 12:48 p.m. Friday. A 2009 Dodge Journey driven by Vicky Hoffmann, 34, New Ulm, was northbound on Minnesota Street when it collided with a 2002 Ford Mustang driven by Andrew Drake, 17, New Ulm, who was westbound, stopped for a stop sign on 6th North, then tried to turn left on Minnesota Street. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on snow-packed roads at Oak Street and Highland Avenue at 12:49 p.m. Friday. A 2015 pickup driven by Gloria Alrenburg, 79, New Ulm, was westbound on Oak Street, stopped for a stop sign at Highland Avenue, then tried to turn left, spun in snow and collided with a 2018 SUV driven by Kortney Schroeder, 30, Hanska, who was northbound. There was damage to the driver’s side of the pickup and to the front of the SUV.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle rollover six miles southwest of Gaylord at 11:59 a.m. Friday. Harlan H. Quast, 71, Gaylord, was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette eastbound on CR 8 near 320th Street, lost control on a curve, entered the east ditch and came to a rest on the vehicle’s side. Quast had minor injuries. He wore a seat belt. Vehicle damage was minor. Gaylord Fire and Ambulance responded.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Responded to a property damage report at Sunrise Manor, 500 Remmele St. S.W. A front door was reported kicked in sometime on Monday, Feb. 11. The door frame was destroyed. A damage estimate was not available.

State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 212, Bird Island Township, Renville County at 10:11 a.m. Feb. 13. A 2013 Chevy M2E driven by Kortney L. Ruschen, 18, Bird Island, was westbound on Highway 212, passing another vehicle when it slid slideways and collided with a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville driven by James J. Anderson, 36, Bird Island. Both drives wore seat belts but were transported to Renville County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Olivia Fire, Police and Ambulance and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
