NEW ULM — Lola – An American Bistro has been a downtown hotspot in New Ulm for years and now Joe Romasiewicz is joining the team as a managing partner.

Joe has big plans for the restaurant and catering service including involvement to Lola’s food truck. The food truck ventures off to Hutchinson, Sleepy Eye, Mankato, along with working private events. Lola’s also expands its service to The Grand Kabaret in New Ulm, preparing food and drinks on the weekends. At The Grand, Lola’s is able to feature a rare selection of wines. Lola’s also has a catering division which has exclusive rights to the kitchen of the New Ulm Event Center. This means that when they cater to the event center, the food is prepared fresh on location.

Joe remarked that he enjoys working with Lacey Lueth, the head chef, curator, and owner of Lola’s, and that he is learning a lot from her. He also included that the whole staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Joe “likes the small-town feel” of New Ulm and “believes in the product (food and atmosphere) that Lola’s has to offer.”Joe appreciates the fresh, local, homemade methods used by Lola’s, like the beef they purchase from a farm located in Sleepy Eye.

Joe previously lived in south Florida where he was able to gain experience in restaurant and bar management. He also has experience working at Green Mill in New Ulm. Joe Romo was welcomed to Lola’s by the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce Willkommen Committee on July 11.
