NEW ULM — New Ulm will once again have a dedicated shoe store, with the arrival of Shoe Sensations in October.

The new shoe store will be located at the Supercenter square at 1704 Westridge Road near Walmart.

Shoe Sensations, Inc. is a privately held corporation in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and operates over 160 stores in 18 states. The New Ulm location will be the seventh shop in Minnesota. The business provides of a mix of nationally branded footwear including Under Armour, Nike, Clarks, Skechers and many others.

In addition to a variety of styles of footwear, from work shoes and boots to athletic and dress styles, Shoe Sensation will offer a wide range of shoe accessories like socks, shoe care and backpacks.

“Everyone at Shoe Sensation is excited about the opportunity to serve the community of New Ulm. We look forward to assisting our customers with their footwear needs as well as becoming an active part of the community,” Public Relations Coordinator Taylor McAdams said in a press release.

Each store will be staffed with local management. Anyone interested in working for the retail chain should visit shoesensation.com/careers to begin the application process. The store plans to hire two full-time employees and around 11 part-time employees.

McAdams said the store would have seasonal work. Back to School and Christmas seasons tend to be busier.

The grand opening of the store is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 26.
