• A felony theft charge was filed against Alyssa M. Lechuga, unknown address, June 27, 2023. According to court documents, Springfield Police Sgt. Theis received a phone call Feb. 15, 2023 from a man asking for an officer to come to his house and take a stolen firearm report. The man said his sister, Lechuga, was staying with him. When he got up in the morning of the previous day, left his home, later returned and noticed his firearm case was empty. He said a Sig M17 gun was missing.

Sgt. Theis talked to a witness on Feb. 20, 2023 who said Lechuga said the gun was sold. A second witness told Sgt. Theis that Lechuga had about $400 in cash. A third witness said Lechuga came to his house Feb. 13 and asked for a ride and continued to text him all day saying she needed to go to New Ulm to meet someone and get money.
