Puppet Wagon opens for Concord Singers at Music in the Park

The Concord Singers perform in The German Park amphitheater during the second Music in the Park event of 2023.

NEW ULM — The second performance in New Ulm’s Music in the Park series took place on Monday evening, featuring the first Puppet Wagon performance of the year and the “Concord Singers”.

The Puppet Wagon drew a nice crowd with their performance. The puppets put on a show and sang songs such as “Old McDonald had a Farm”.

“I liked when they did the music,” said Elijah Cook, who was attending the performance with his mother and younger brother. At the end of the show, the Puppet Wagon gave thanks to the Optimist Club, Park and Rec, and the audience.

Once the clock hit 7, the “Concord Singers” began their performance. Founded in 1931, the group has been going strong ever since. The “Concord Singers” consist of 21 members who do all sorts of things, from singing, to dancing, to yodeling. During the performance, the Narren made an appearance, marching around and dancing with members from the audience.

Next Monday’s Music in the Park performance will be done by Ralph’s World, sponsered by the New Ulm Public Library.

Starting at $4.50/week.
