FAIRFAX — The Fairfax City Council voiced interest and encouraged business license application for a proposed new business at its Nov. 7 meeting.

Steve Wright of Shreeram LLC said the company is interested in opening a liquor store in Fairfax, ideally near the Highway 4 & 19 intersection. Wright said he would business license application. Pending approval and land purchase, building construction would begin soon.

The city council showed support for a moratorium on the sale of edible cannabis (THC) products and for Fairfax City Administrator Andrea Merkel to begin work on a THC ordinance.
