Riding a Polaris, Kral won the 800cc trophy and Fossil 50+ classes and finished second in the Legends 40+ under sunny skies, plenty of snow and a temperature close to 30 degrees.

More than 150 people participated in the side-by-side, double elimination drag races up a 520-foot hill. Some of the bigger machines climbed the hill in slightly over seven seconds.

Kral said he wasn’t sure just how fast he was going up the hill.

“I didn’t look down (at the speedometer),” he said.

Tim Stadick of New Ulm won the 440 trophy class and 500 improved cash classes. He finished second in the 600 and Fossil 50+.

Jason Vanberg received the King of the Hill trophy class, winning the 850 and Legens 40+ classes. Justin Krabben was Cash Class King of the Hill.

Nathan Wagner won the 500 and 600.

The event drew a number of Twin Cities competitors who said they saw it online and came down.
