REDWOOD COUNTY — The name of the victim shot June 6 near Belview has been identified as Austin Beran, 22, of Morton.

Beran remains in serious but stable condition at North Memorial Health Hospital, Robbinsdale, according to a Redwood County Sheriff’s Office new release.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 12:30 a.m., June 6. At the scene, deputies found Beran with a single gunshot wound. They provided lifesaving measures before Beran was transported to a nearby hospital, then airlifted to North Memorial.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Redwood Falls Police, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, CentraCare Ambulance, and North Memorial Aircare.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 507-637-4036. Charges are pending further investigation. No further details were available.
