Vogel, Roiger, S., L. Groebner, win seats on Springfield school board

SPRINGFIELD — Michael Vogel, Justin Roiger, Sarah L. Groebner, and Lori Groebner won seats on the District 85 school board Tuesday.
Vogel got 1,100 votes, Roiger 1,021 votes, Sarah L. Groebner 975 and Lori Groebner 974 votes. Following were Jessica Potter 819 votes and Kevin Hauth, 773 votes. There were 12 write-ins.
For Redwood County District 1 Commissioner, Rick Wakefield got 920 votes and Justin Lawrence Wakefield received 530 votes.
Bob Van Hee picked up 1,406 votes for the District 4 seat. There were 44 write-ins. David Forkrud got 1,364 votes for the District 5 chair. There were 24 write-ins.
Brian Timm got 4,231 votes for District 2 Soil and Water Supervisor seat. Ryan Benedict got 2,696 votes. Rick Maurer and Joseph R. Plaetz ran unopposed for the District 3 and 4 seats. Maurer got 6,760 votes and Plaetz 6,832 votes. There were 31 write-ins in District 3 and 24 in District 4.
Fairfax city councilor John Schaefer kept his seat with 429 votes. Steve Schmidt got 353 votes for the other open city council seat. There were 21 write-ins. Mayor Brad Augustin was unopposed and got 514 votes. There were 21 write-ins.
M. R. Koenig got 772 votes for the Renville Soil and Water Supervisor District 1 seat. Lyle Lundstrom got 562 votes. There were three write-ins. Kevin Kokesch and Richard Jepson ran unopposed in District 2 and 5.
David Hamre received 796 votes for the Renville County Commissioner District 5 seat. Rick Jansen got 740 votes. There were five write-ins.
Randy Kramer and Doug Erickson ran unopposed in District 1 and 3. Kramer got 1,354 votes. There were 14 write-ins. Erickson got 1,501 votes. There were 24 write-ins.
Brown County Commissioners Dave Borchert, Tony Berg and Scott Windschitl ran unopposed in Districts 1, 2 and 3. Borchert got 2,473 votes. There were 28 write-ins. Berg got 3,177 votes. There were 23 write-ins. Windschitl got 2,258 votes. There were 15 write-ins.
Craig Fischer got 12,288 votes for the Brown Soil and Water Supervisor District 1 seat. There were 75 write-ins. Mark Wellner got 11,908 votes in District 4. There were 38 write-ins. Nobody ran in District 2. There were 1,084 write-ins.
Darla Remus received 2,146 votes and Joleen Dittbenner 1,788 votes to keep their Sleepy Eye school board seats. Another seat was open. There were 322 write-ins.
Wayne Grams got 6,556 votes for the Sibley Soil and Water Supervisor District 4 seat. There were 31 write-ins. Bob Nielsen got 6,535 votes in District 5. There were 27 write-ins.
In Lamberton, Lydell Sik got 284 votes for mayor. There were 99 write-ins. Nobody filed for two open Lamberton City Council seats. There were 292 write-ins.
John Buckley picked up 2,087 votes for mayor in Redwood Falls. Denise Kerkhoff got 406 votes for the Ward 1 seat. Jena Beller-Schmidt got 168 votes and Denise Castle 138 votes. There were four write-ins. Matthew C. Smith got 674 votes for the Ward 2 seat. There were 14 write-ins.
Pam Horton received 128 votes and Wayne Schultz 108 votes for two New Auburn City Council seats. Following were Fred Grack 97 votes and Craig Lowden 19 votes. There were six write-ins.
John Wangen got 93 votes and Dennis Kuehl 90 in a city council special election. There were eight write-ins.
Mandy Grack picked up 119 votes for New Auburn mayor. Doug Munsch received 83 votes. There was one write-in.
Jason Peirce got 200 votes for Stewart mayor. There were 30 write-ins. Carol Altrichter received 136 votes and Kevin Klucas 105 votes for two open Stewart City Councilor seats. There were 120 write-ins.
Wayne J. Carrigan got 109 votes for Buffalo Lake mayor. Nathaniel Marquart got 63 votes. There were 123 write-ins. Nobody filed for two open city councilor seats. There were 232 write-ins.
Ronald J. Ebbers got 197 votes and Gregory A. Krueger 196 votes for two open Hector City Council seats. Following were Douglas Best 180 votes, Amy Hollan 151 votes, Jerome Schueller 108 votes, Janis Weikle 73 votes and Dave Brateng 20 votes. There were four write-ins.
Steven R. Squibb got 413 votes for Hector mayor. There were 54 write-ins.
Julie Sander received 546 votes for Bird Island mayor. There were 11 write-ins. Neil G. Prokosch got 519 votes and Bill Leach 429 votes for two open Bird Island City Council seats. There were 15 write-ins.
