Olivia, Renville lead Renville County COVID cases

RENVILLE COUNTY — Cumulative COVID-19 cases in Renville County rose greatly in October, according to the Renville County Public Health public dashboard.

There are 245 cumulative cases as of Friday. That number is up from 145 in September, 78 in August, 59 in July and 30 in June, according to the dashboard.

Olivia reported 48 cumulative cases and Renville 45 cases according to the weekly county update posted Friday.

Following cities were Hector with 27, Bird Island with 21, Buffalo Lake and Fairfax with 20 each, Sacred Heart with 16, Morton with 15, Franklin with 13 and Danube with 14.

There were 48 active cases reported in Renville County, up one from the previous week. Cases off isolation numbered 197. Eleven cumulative deaths were reported.

Age range of positive cases in Renville County were 42 for ages 20-29, 41 ages 10-19, 36 for ages 60-69, 32 for ages 50-59, 29 for ages 30-39, 20 for ages 40-49, 17 for ages 80-89, 15 for ages 70-79, eight for ages 90-99 and five up to age 9.

The active case rate per 10,000 residents in Renville County was 32.85.

Area county COVID-19 cases on the Minnesota Department of Health Public Dashboard Friday included Blue Earth County with 2,003; Lyon County with 941, Nicollet County with 700, McLeod County with 576, Watonwan County with 572, Brown County with 311, Redwood County with 260, Sibley County with 260, and Renville County with 237.

Statewide, there were 128,152 confirmed cases, 113,976 people released from isolation and 2,301 deaths. There were 9,226 people hospitalized in Minnesota for COVID-19 Friday, and 2,485 people in intensive care units.

Total confirmed cases by gender were 66,159 female cases and 61,319 male cases.
