Sharing the bounty during pandemic

Sleepy Eye Future Farmers of America (FFA) members and other community volunteers load boxes of food into vehicles at the Sleepy Eye Ballpark parking lot Tuesday. Brown County food distributions are sponsored by Second Harvest Heartland, Trinity Lutheran Church of Sleepy Eye and the Sleepy Eye Food Shelf in cooperation with New Ulm and Springfield Food Shelves. Anyone was eligible to receive food boxes, including those who received them at previous food distributions. In July, more than 500 households each received about 60 pounds of produce, mixed dairy and frozen chicken or pork.
