2020 Winthrop Royalty were crowned on June 14 in Winthrop. Elise Swenson (center) is the new Miss Winthrop and Princesses are Ryleigh Kuehn (left) and Abby Heimkes. Swenson is the daughter of Kris and Rachel Swenson and her sponsor is the Country Drive In. Kuehn is the daughter of Mike and Jill Kuehn and her sponsor is the Winthrop Dairy Queen. Heimkes is the daughter of Kari and Jason Fritz and Bill Heimkes and she is sponsored by the Winthrop News. The event had been postponed from the original tradition of being part of the town celebration Grackle Days usually held in April had to be canceled due to COVID-19. Judging was done over Zoom on June 13 and the coronation was held outdoors in front of their families on June 14.
