NOTICE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS THIS MAY AFFECT YOUR 2024 PROPERTY TAXES
The Board of Appeal and Equalization for Townships of Milford (open book), Sigel, and Cottonwood , County of Brown, MN, will meet Tuesday the 2 nd of May, 2023 at the Brown County Courthouse, 14 So State, New Ulm, MN, at 9:00am, Milford; 10:00am, Sigel; 11:00am, Cottonwood. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may attend the Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting. The board will review your assessments and make corrections as needed. Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county board of appeal and equalization.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Review of the City of New Ulm, Brown County, Minnesota, will meet on Monday the 8th day of May, 2023 at the City Hall Council Chambers, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, MN at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and also to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Those wishing to appeal their valuation or classification should call 507-233-6606, prior to the meeting day, to set up an appointment or affirm their concerns by letter to the County Assessor, Brown County Courthouse, P.O. Box 248, New Ulm, MN 56073. Appointments are required for City Boards.
The Board of Review cannot act on current year property taxes. They can act only on the valuation or classification for property taxes payable in 2024.
