Court Proceedings

Brown County District Court

• Charges of felony 1st-degree drug sale – 17 grams or more methamphetamine and felony 2nd-degree drug possession 25 grams or more methamphetamine were filed April 4 against Jordan S. Osmonson, 30, 416 Kiefer St., N.E., Sleepy Eye.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police Cpl. Mathew Rasmussen was on patrol at 11 p.m. March 24, when he saw a vehicle with a very dark window tint leaving a business parking lot. Rasmussen stopped the vehicle, a black GMC Terrain in the Kwik Trip parking lot on South Broadway.

The vehicle driver gave Rasmussen a driver’s license with the name Justino Alvarez on it. The vehicle driver said his address was 416 Kiefer Street, Sleepy Eye, which did not match the driver’s license address. The driver then said his name was Jordan Shaun Osmonson and that he gave his friend’s driver’s license to Rasmussen.

Osmonson had a butane canister in the passenger seat and blue spray bottle in the console that Rasmussen recognized as being associated with drug use and/or drug paraphernalia. Osmonson said he used the butane canister for soldering and showed Rasmussen a small spool of wire solder.

New Ulm Police Patrolman Andrew Kuester used his K9 partner Hank to sniff the vehicle and the dog alerted to narcotics in the vehicle. Kuester found a plastic baggie with a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, several glass pipes and bongs, a small green leafy substance suspected as marijuana, two “roaches” and metal tools that appeared to be used to scrape meth pipes. The total meth weight was 29.67 grams. Osmonson was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail.

Starting at $4.50/week.
