To raise funds for Scouting camps and programs, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are selling popcorn door to door and at local businesses during the month of October.

Dan Kotten, scoutmaster for Troop 25 in New Ulm, said in addition to being a primary fundraiser for the Twin Valley Council, the sale also instills a strong work ethic in participating youths and encourages them to earn their way in participating in Scouting activities and events.

Kotten said buying the variety of popcorn for sale is also a good opportunity to donate it to first responders, doctors, nurses, police, firefighters, members of the military, veterans and their families in appreciation for the service they render to the community.
