SLEEPY EYE–Bonnie Mae Schumacher of Sleepy Eye, MN passed away peacefully at her home on May 6, 2024, at the age of 82. Visitation will be on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel with Parish Prayers at 3:45 p.m. prior to visitation. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. and will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/stmarysleepyeye. The clergy will be Fr. Mark Steffl. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. A light lunch will follow at the church. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Bonnie is survived by her husband Jim and their 10 children, Trude (Bob) Bartlett, Ham Lake, MN, Kevin (Vickie) Schumacher, Hoffman, MN, Sandy Hoffmann, St. Clair, MN, Jerry (Kim) Schumacher, Olathe, KS, Rich Schumacher, Campbell, CA, Roger (Stephanie) Schumacher, Boise, ID, Gary Schumacher, Raymore, MO, Cheryl Borgen, Eagan, MN, Jill (Karl) Weiss, Sleepy Eye, MN, and Brian (Stephanie) Schumacher, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Brianna Town, Ashley (Todd) Anderson and Tony (Rachel) Schumacher, Sarah and Nicole Hoffmann, Cole Schumacher, Kendra and Adam (Alix) Schumacher, Jacob and Joshua Schumacher, Alec and Aiden Borgen, Leah, Emily and Kaleb Weiss, Evan and Hailey Schumacher; 5 great grandchildren; and siblings, David (Linda) Schmitz and Gladys Feser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Loyola Schmitz, Jim’s parents, Carl and Laura Schumacher, along with her siblings, Floyd, Denis, Verne and Joyce.
