New dermatologist seeing patients at NUMC starting in October

Susan Rudolph, MD, is a board-certified derma- tologist who will begin her practice at New Ulm Medical Center in October 2019.

According to Rudolph, patient education is the most important part of her practice. “I am big into education, especially when it comes to the diagnosis. I want to be sure that patients are educated so they know the best way to care for themselves.”

Rudolph began her education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying nutritional science and dietetics. After completing her undergraduate degree in 1999, she went on to pursue her medical education.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2005. Rudolph then participated in a three-year fellowship program where she studied lasers for different types of skin conditions. To finish her education, she completed a dermatology residency at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Rudolph grew up in the small town of Luverne, which is a rural area in Minnesota with a population of about 4,500 people. She has three children; a nineteen-year- old, five-year-old, and two-year-old. In her free time she enjoys spending time on the lake with her family, traveling the country, exploring new areas of Minnesota and playing tennis. Within her practice, she is especially interested in general medical dermatology (adult and pediatric), skin cancer screening, surgical dermatology, patch testing for allergies, cosmetic dermatology-neurotoxins, fillers and laser treatments.

Practicing dermatology since 2012, Rudolph is especially excited to join New Ulm. “I’m ready to get back to my roots in rural Minnesota,” said Rudolph. “I feel a connection to rural areas, and I look forward to fulfilling the need for dermatology at New Ulm.”

Along with being sure to fully answer all of her patient’s questions and concerns, she makes it a point to treat all patients the way she would like to be treated, with exceptional care and understanding.
