Celebrating death?

Robert Mueller died last week at age 81 of Parkinson's disease. After he graduated from Princeton University, a friend of his was killed in Vietnam. Mueller set aside his career goals and enlisted. Among his military awards were a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. President Clinton appointed him U.S. attorney for the Northern District of California in 1992. President George W. Miscalculation of an analogy

“A little learning is a dangerous thing.” Alexander Pope obviously never knew Donald Trump when he wrote this famous quote in his poem “An Essay on Criticism” in the early Eighteenth Century, but he was obviously familiar with the type of person who is currently residing in what’s-left-of-the-White House. The system isn’t broken

To the editor: With all of the vital questions and concerns our legislators have to address, State Rep. Paul Torkelson, R-Hanska, has proposed a way to prevent further ties - smaller number of representatives. How about spending your time - actually OUR time, since we pay you - talking across the aisle? How about not having an aisle? How about working together to solve real issues? Imbalance among branches of government is concerning

To the editor: Our Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788, when New Hampshire signed it. Article VI defines it as the supreme law of the Land. The President’s oath of office states “will, to the best ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States”. Senators and representatives, the members of States legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States, and the several States, shall be by bound oath or affirmation to support the Constitution. Don’t need a president seeking spotlight

To the Editor: I am writing because I have to let my frustrations out, so many issues to address. • The lack of concern, as well as the lack of respect and communication, for and between people, seemingly championed by President Trump. • Our president, who is talking of developing, and testing new nuclear weapons, started a war with Iran. Minneapolis deaths sad and unnecessary

To the editor: I read with detached bemusement the recent diatribe, “What is happening to our democracy?” Let’s look at what happened in Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge. The Biden administration’s immigration policy allowed an open border that ushered in millions of immigrants to the United States unvetted. Foreign countries sent people with serious criminal histories to the United States.
