Twenty businesses successfully passed the check and refused service to underage buyers. Thirteen businesses will be checked later for various reasons. Brown County Sheriff’s Office issues burn ban

NEW ULM — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued a burning ban for Brown County at 9 a.m. Tuesday until further notice. Recreational campfires are permitted but must be contained by a ring of rock, cement, brick, or metal, must not be closer than 25 feet to any structure and be attended to. Charcoal grills, wood smokers, and propane or natural gas devices are not considered open burning. Brown County does not require residents to obtain a permit for open burning, but individuals must notify sheriffs’ office dispatch at 507-233-6700 prior to open burning to ensure there is no ...
