Highway 4 from CR 24 to TH 30 opens today

MANKATO – Highway 4 from Brown County Road 24 south of Sleepy Eye to Highway 30 is expected to open to traffic by the end of the day on Friday, November 8, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Motorists should expect intermittent lane restrictions and watch for flaggers on Highway 4 between Brown County Road 24 and Watonwan County Road 6 until mid-November as finishing work continues. Sister Cities seek exchange program applicants

NEW ULM -- The New Ulm Sister Cities Commission is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the year 2025 Hans Joohs Cultural Exchange Program. The recipient of this award will live 12-weeks in or near the City of Ulm, Germany. The New Ulm Sister Cities Commission will provide transportation to and from Germany. The cooperating Ulm organizations will provide housing and a modest stipend in a career setting or settings based on the recipient's background and interests. NU Garden Club to hear from brewery gardener and berry growing

The New Ulm Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the New Ulm Airport. The first guest speaker will be Henry Bode, the Schell’s Brewery gardener. Bode will explain his duties, the grounds and what his job entails. The second guest speaker will be Denise Palmer. Palmer grows aronia berries and will share recipes and samples of foods to make with the nutritional berries. A short business meeting will follow and also the planning of the Club’s Christmas party. All are welcome to attend.

• Vogel Fieldhouse Gym Courts and Track will be close Nov. 4 until 4 p.m. on Nov. 8 for HVAC and duct work. •Broadleaf Control spraying in the parks is taking place in the next two weeks.
