Four from New Ulm attend American Legion Boy’s State

NEW ULM - New Ulm American Legion Seifert Bianchi Post # 132 sponsored four local boys to attend Boy's State this week at St John's University. Henry Albrecht, Ryan Johnson, Logan Klawitter, and Anton Pyon are spending the week at St John's learning about how our government works and will be putting together a Boy's State government throughout the week. At the end of the week, the 173 delegates from across the state will elect a Governor and State Legislature, then they will work to enact laws. Sparks will fly with NUFS’ screening of ‘The Natural’

NEW ULM – The New Ulm Film Society continues to round the bases of its Baseball film series with a screening of “The Natural.” The screening begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the New Ulm Public Library. “The Natural” was released in 1984 and is based on a novel by Bernard Malamud. Both the film and the book tell the story of baseball talent Roy Hobbs and a decade expanding career. At a young age, Hobbs showed natural talent but an unexpected injury sidelined his career.
