NEW ULM — Dan Groebner will present “History of Brown County Ballrooms” at the 88th Annual Meeting of Brown County Historical Society Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Turner Hall.

Groebner will lecture on ballrooms, dance halls and bands of Brown County’s past, including photographs and stories about the inception and eventual demise of many of the ballrooms and dance halls.

In addition, Groebner will discuss the era of “Old Time” music and the Brown County bands that made a living playing in area ballrooms and night clubs.

A mixer begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., business meeting at 7 p.m. followed by the presentation. The event is open to the public. Cost is $30 per person. For more information, call the Brown County Historical Society at 507-233-2620.
