PETER — New Ulm finished the first day of the Section 2AA Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at Gustavus Adolphus College, competing in a number of preliminary events and sending athletes on to the final day of the meet Friday. Brown, Guetter complete Section 3A Golf Tournament

WORTHINGTON — Red Rock Central’s Jorga Brown finished as the Section 3A Girls Golf Tournament individual champion on Wednesday at Great Life Golf Club. She shot a 79 on Wednesday to finish with a two-day total of 163 and advance to the Class A state tournament, which begins June 9 at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. Wabasso had senior Brayden Guetter compete on the boys’ side of the tournament. He shot a 93 on Wednesday to tie for 19th with a two-day total of 184.

SEU leads opening round of 2A boys golf tourney

NORTH MANKATO — The Sleepy Eye United boys golf team turned in a top score of 328 on Tuesday to lead the first round of the Section 2A Boys Golf Tournament at North Links Golf Course. The top four teams qualified for the final round Monday, along with individual golfers who carded a 90 or better and was not on those top four teams.
