Arlington Raceway to host stock car shootout
ARLINGTON — The Geib Well & Water Sibley Co. Stock Car Shootout presented by Justice Brothers, one of the premier events of the season at Arlington Raceway, is set for Wednesday, July 29th during the Sibley County Fair.
IMCA Stock cars will invade the track, drivers are expected to be from the upper midwest in the division as the drivers will be racing for over $30,000 in prize monies. The race will once again pay the IMCA Stock Car winner $5,000 to win and the race will pay $200 to start. Last year’s Stock Car winner was Dan Mackenthun from Hamburg, MN, a local driver that picked up his first Stock Car Shootout win and taking home $6,825.00 for his efforts. He won $5,000 for the win and the additional money was lap money for leading the race. Random draws will also take place for drivers finishing in certain positions and extra money for the farthest tow, hardchargers, tough luck awards and more.
The Arlington State Bank IMCA No. Sport Modifieds will also be racing with the winner getting $1,000 and $100 to start. The Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby class will also be part of the action with the feature paying $500.00 to win and $50 to start. There will be random draws in these two divisions as well. All classes will be a draw/redraw for the start and feature positions. Pit gate opens at 4 p.m., grandstand opens at 5:00 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. The race will also be live streamed on imca.tv for those that can’t make it to the event.
