SPRINGFIELD — The Sleepy Eye Legion Post 7 baseball team topped Springfield Post 257 on Thursday night by a score of 7-2 in legion baseball action.

Eli Christensen got the win in 2 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and one walk for no runs. Carson Uecker got the start and went 3 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and six walks for two earned runs while striking out five. At the plate for Sleepy Eye, Merrick Mathiowetz was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, while Kayden Klein was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Uecker also was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, while Tyler Mathiowetz was 2 for 5 with two doubles.

Adiel Trevino took the loss in four innings, allowing seven hits and four walks for five runs, three earned, while striking out three. At the plate for Springfield, Noah Mueller was 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI.
