St. Mary’s 81, BLHS 38

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s rolled Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 81-38 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Friday.

Adam Steffensmeier had 26 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assists for the Knights, while Brecken Hulke had 12 points. Cooper Walter added 11 points for St. Mary’s.

Ayden Buboltz had 12 points for BLHS.

St. Mary’s (7-4, 4-2) plays at Sleepy Eye on Tuesday, while BLHS (1-9, 0-6) hosts Lester Prairie on Tuesday.

Springfield 113,

Sleepy Eye 42

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield exploded for a 113-42 win over Sleepy Eye Friday in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game.

Brecken Heiling had 22 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Tigers, while Madden Lendt had 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Parker Kuehn had 12 points and three steals, while Aiden Moriarty had 11 points and five rebounds and Dylan Simonson had 11 points.

Braylon Nelson led the Indians with 19 points and three rebounds.

Springfield (7-3, 6-1) plays at New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday, while Sleepy Eye (8-3, 4-3) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

Wabasso 102,

Cedar Mountain 48

WABASSO — No. 10-ranked Wabasso had its third 100-point game of the season with a 102-48 win over Cedar Mountain in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Friday.

Drew Kemp led the Rabbits with 23 points and eight assists, while Brayden Guetter had 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Tavyn Larson had 15 points and four assists, Jack Burns had 12 points and three assists, and Caden Frericks added 10 points, 16 rebounds and three steals.

Thomas Dahmes had 13 points for the Cougars, while Carson Schiller had 12 points and Jackson Guetter had 10 points and four assists.

Wabasso (11-0, 7-0) plays at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday, while Cedar Mountain (1-7, 1-6) plays at Nicollet on Tuesday.

Madelia 80, MCW 60

MADELIA — Madelia defeated Martin County West 80-60 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Friday.

Caden McMullen had 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks for the Blackhawks, whiel Dalton Tatro had 20 points and eight rebounds. Bryce Borkenhagen had 16 points and six assists, and Tate Becker added 10 points.

Madelia (8-0, 5-0) plays at Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on Monday.

Nicollet 85,

NICOLLET — Nicollet downed Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther 85-67 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Friday.

Henry Oscarson led the Raiders with 23 points, while Carson Kettner had 14 points and five rebounds. Noah Fitzner added 10 points.

Nicollet (8-2, 5-1) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cathedral 50, RCW 41

RENVILLE — New Ulm Cathedral took down Renville County West 50-41 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Friday.

Shay Wilfahrt led the Greyhounds with 18 points, while Jayde Altermatt had 17 points.

Cathedral (4-8) hosts Springfield on Tuesday.

Wabasso 52

WABASSO — Cedar Mountain defeated Wabasso 68-52 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Friday.

Aubrey Steffl led the Cougars with 26 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals, while Kendra Lueck had 19 points. Kendra Erickson added 10 points and three steals.

Kenley Guetter had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Wabasso, while Elizabeth Morin had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Cedar Mountain (9-2, 6-1) plays Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey in Comfrey on Monday, while Wabasso (4-9, 3-5) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday.

WASECA — New Ulm Area swept a prep wrestling triangular on Thursday night in Waseca, defeating Waseca 59-11 and Tri-City United 47-20.

Chase Wilson (107), Chael Johnson (114), Regan Johnson (121), Kaden Fortwengler (127), Alex Portner (133), Kane Johnson (139), Candon Briggs (172) and Lane Ruch (189/215) all went 2-0 for the Eagles on the night.
