MADELIA — Madelia cruised by Cleveland 102-70 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.
Kaydon Firchau led the Blackhawks with 40 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals, while Dalton Tatro had 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals. Tate Becker had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Bryce Borkenhagen had 11 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
Madelia (1-0) hosts Mankato Loyola on Friday.

SIBLEY EAST — Sibley East downed New Ulm Cathedral 62-52 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Tuesday.
Ezra Weber had 17 points for the Wolverines, while Riley Bussler had 16 points. Will Feterl added 13 points.
Eli Anderson led the Greyhounds with 28 points, nine rebounds and two steals, while Quinten Forst had 8 points and five rebounds.
Sibley East (1-0) travels to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday, while Cathedral (0-1) plays at Sleepy Eye on Thursday.

WABASSO — Wabasso defeated Renville County West 95-86 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Tuesday.
Brayden Guetter led the Rabbits with 41 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Drew Kemp had 23 points and four rebounds. Caden Frericks added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Wabasso (1-0) plays at a home tournament on Thursday.
Nicollet 83, ACGE 50
NICOLLET — The Nicollet Raiders ran past Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on Tuesday night with an 83-50 win in a Valley Division boys basketball game.
Henry Kennedy had 25 points and eight rebounds to lead the Raiders, while Abe Madson had 15 points and Henry Oscarson had 13 points. Carson Kettner and Jacob Volby each added 8 points for Nicollet.
Nicollet (1-0, 1-0) is at Cleveland on Friday night for another Valley game.

Cathedral 46
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield topped New Ulm Cathedral 58-46 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Tuesday.
Olivia Milbrath led the Tigers with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Kendall Krueger had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jada Reese added 9 points and three steals.
Shay Wilfahrt led the Greyhounds with 13 points, while Jayde Altermatt added 12 points.
Springfield (3-0, 2-0) plays at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday, while Cathedral (0-2, 0-1) plays at Sleepy Eye on Friday.
Maple River 70, MVL 65
MAPLETON — Minnesota Valley Lutheran fell short to Maple River on Tuesday night 70-65 in a South Central Conference girls basketball game.
Ziva Zahrt led the way for the Chargers in the loss with a double-double, putting up 20 points and 16 rebounds. Avery Freier added 16 points and four assists for MVL, while Violet Hammer had 15 points and Ellie Kaesermann had eight rebounds.
MVL (1-1, 0-1) hosts Springfield on Friday at 5:45 p.m. in a girls-boys doubleheader.
Wabasso 58, GFW 56
WINTHROP — Wabasso defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 58-56 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Tuesday.
Kenley Guetter led the Rabbits with 12 points and 24 rebounds, while Ava Samyn had 12 points and six rebounds. Cassie Bliss also had 12 points and six rebounds.
Kelby Bruns led the Firebirds with 14 points, while Kinley Bruns had 12 points Keydon Buboltz added 11 points.
Wabasso (1-3, 1-0) hosts Lac qui Parle Valley on Thursday, while GFW (1-4, 0-1) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday.
