Several area names to join Minnesota Softball HOF

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Sports Federation recently announced this year’s Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame members will be inducted during the 34th Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame Banquet on Oct. 26 at Jackpot Junction Casino in Morton.

Several area players, managers, umpires and sponsors will be joining this year’s class, including Wayne Cook, a long-time umpire and promoter out of Redwood Falls. Wabasso’s Nicole and Ann Guetter will be inducted as sponsors, along with Wabasso player Tony Price and Redwood County/Wabasso player Jack Reese.

Also to be inducted will be Darren Betzhold, Elmer Carlson, Burdette “Gus” Courrier, Michael “Mick” Detviler, David Dollerschell, Ron Ehoff, Brian Flann, Bill Goetz, Lou Heller, Greg “Chopper” Lammers, Brian Langeland, Glen Muckenhirn, Lee Patten, Arly Schelhaas and Kevin Voltin.

The cost of the banquet is $65 and tickets may be obtained from the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame at 118 12th Ave. N., South St. Paul or online at msf1.org/?p=22214. Those interested can also call 651-451-3140.

Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 11.
