Demo Derby drums up mud, fun

NEW ULM — The 2024 Brown County Fair Demolition Derby began on Thursday, with five separate classes clashing to see who could last the longest in the pit.
First up was the Youth Class. There were six competitors in the division, and in the end, it was the lone girl in the class, Elizabeth Conrad, who came out the victor.
Next up was the Vans Class. In the class, 10 drivers came out to clash for the event. After a long battle, Trayton Hewitt took first in the race.
Third on the docket was the Midsize Class. Eight drivers entered into the class, with the lone survivor being Logan Johnson, who survived a long bout with Jacob Johnson for the win.
Fourth came the Trucks Class, which was met by cheers from the onlooking crowd that filled the bleachers. Of the six drivers in the class, It was Marcus Lang who won the derby, surviving against Dustin Scheibel in the final two.

The 80s Class was the final one of the night. It was also the largest class, with 12 drivers entering the competition. After another long contest, Dustin Reinhart came out on top with the final functioning vehicle.
The derby action will continue to roll on Saturday.
