Brewers blast Long Sox in TEL regular season finale

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Brewers continue to produce runs.

The Brewers sent 10 men to the plate in the second inning and scored four runs on just two hits.

New Ulm then sent 13 men to the plate in the fourth and added nine more runs as they downed the Lamberton Long Sox 17-7 Thursday in their last game of the Tomahawk East League regular season.

The game was stopped after seven innings because of the 10-run lead rule.

Adam Slander got the win for the Brewers, who end the TEL season at 15-1 and are now 21-2 overall.

Slander went six innings and gave up all seven runs on 11 hits.

Jake Wahl took the loss for Lamberton.

Cole Ranweiler had three hits for the Brewers, who are ranked fourth in Class C. Colton Schaefer, Ayden Jensen and Sam Keckeisen each had two hits.

Ranweiler, Jensen and Keckeisen each had at triple, with Keckeisen adding a three-run home run to his game resume.

Isaac Jenniges had two hits and three RBIs for Lamberton.

The Brewers, who host St. Clair Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson Park, fell behind 4-0 after 1 1/2 innings, tied the game in the bottom of the second on just two hits.

Four walks, a hit batsman and a Keckeisen triple pulled the Brewers even.

New Ulm then scored nine runs in the fourth on six hits — one being a long Keckeisen home run to right field for a 13-4 lead.

Lamberton scored three runs in the top of the sixth, but the Brewers plated four in the bottom of the inning.

A big hit for the Brewers was a bases-loaded triple off of the bat of Jensen, who would later score on a passed ball for a 17-7 lead.

Logan Sandgren closed out the seventh for New Ulm.
