BLHS downs GFW in 5 innings Tuesday

HECTOR — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 17-5 in five innings Monday in a Tomahawk Conference softball game.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run lead rule.

Isabella Trebelhorn took the loss for GFW, striking out one and allowing five hits in 1/3 of an inning. Halle Bleick pitched the remaining 3 2/3 innings, striking out one while allowing seven hits.

At the plate for GFW, Bleick was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Katelyn Beranek had a hit and two runs scored.

Chloe Schultz got the win for BLHS in all five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two.

Sadie Kirtz was 2 for 4 with a two-run double to lead BLHS at the plate.

GFW (0-5, 0-4) travels to Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s for a doubleheader on Thursday.
