JORDAN — Jordan defeated New Ulm 91-83 in a nonconference boys basketball game Saturday, with two New Ulm players achieving significant career milestones in the loss.
James Osborne scored 28 points to cross the 1,000 career points threshold, while Colton Benson scored 20 points to break the school’s boys basketball career points record.
New Ulm hosts St. Peter on Friday.
St. Mary’s 72, MCC 63
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Murray County Central 72-63 Saturday in the second day of the Sleepy Eye Boys Basketball Invite at Sleepy Eye High School.
Will Walter led the Knights with 33 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Brandon Schmitz scored 12 points. Jon Petermann added 9 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
St. Mary’s (2-0) travels to Cathedral on Monday.
Sleepy Eye 66, TMB 59
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye downed Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 66-59 Saturday in the second day of the Sleepy Eye Boys Basketball Invite at Sleepy Eye High School.
Brayden Heiderscheidt led the Indians with 28 points and five rebounds, while Landon Wendinger had 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Sleepy Eye (2-0) hosts Springfield on Tuesday.
Cedar Mountain 89, Cleveland 61
MORGAN — Cedar Mountain downed Cleveland 89-61 in a nonconference boys basketball game Saturday at Cedar Mountain High School.
Blake Steffl led the Cougars with 27 points, eight assists and three steals, while Blake Schueller had 26 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. Zach Sandgren added 11 points, three assists and three rebounds for Cedar Mountain also, while Branndon Pendleton had 10 points and six assists.
Cedar Mountain hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.
