Kaesermann, Halvorson lead MVL/NUC boys track and field team at Mankato indoor event Tuesday

MANKATO — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran/New Ulm Cathedral track and field team competed at a Mankato Loyola/Cleveland Indoor Track and Field Meet on Tuesday, turning in several top three finishes at the event.

The MVL/NUC boys team took third out of five teams with 88 points, while the girls team took fifth with 46 points.

For the boys, Will Kasermann took first in the boys 55-meter hurdles (8.76), while the MVL/NUC boys sprint medley relay 200-200-400-800 team (Justin Thompson, Josh Bentler, Kendrick Henry and Elliot Hoffman) took first (4:07.76). MVL/NUC also saw Jeremy Feister take first in the boys 1,600 (5:34.46), while the boys 4×200 relay team (Henry, Ben Halvorson, Kaesermann, Jared Frey) took second (1:43.74), Thompson took second in the boys 400 (58.95), Kaesermann took first in the boys 60-meter low/IM hurdles (8.65) and Halvorson took second in the boys 200 (25.09) and second in the boys triple jump (38-06).

For the MVL/NUC girls, the SMR 200-200-400-800 team (Averyelle Hopp, Emily Brown, Taylor Sommer and Teresa Fischer) took third (5:28.66), while Alycin Glowicki took third in the girls 400 (1:15.33). Hopp also took third in the girls 200 (30.21) and third in the girls long jump (13-11.5), while Brown took first in the girls triple jump (26-08).
