SLEEPY EYE — Madison Mathiowetz set a single-game scoring record for Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Monday night in an 80-69 nonconference girls’ basketball win over Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial.
Mathiowetz had 55 points on the night, breaking her previous single-game record of 50 points. She also had 15 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Liz Schwint added 8 points, eight rebounds and three assists for St. Mary’s, while Allie Labat had 7 points, three rebounds and three assists and Reagan Severson had 5 points and five assists.
LCWM was led by Olivia Harzin’s 28 points, while Lauren Cooper had 20 points.
Springfield 72,
Windom 66
WINDOM — Springfield topped Windom 72-66 on Monday night in a nonconference girls’ basketball game.
The Tigers were led by Brooklyn Sturm’s 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, while Emma Hauger added 12 points. Also for Springfield, Maddy Digmann had 11 points and eight rebounds, Jasmine Novotny had 11 points and six rebounds and Tori Roiger had 10 points.
The No. 4-seeded Tigers (13-13) host fifth-seeded Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther for a Section 2A playoff matchup at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

SJA 70, Madelia 69
MADELIA — St. James Area held off Madelia 70-69 on Monday night in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.
Ja’Sean Glover led Madelia with 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Blake Altenburg had 24 points and Josiah DeMaris added 11 points. Isaac Bergeman pulled in 11 rebounds for Madelia also.
