Stark 18, Sleepy Eye 6, 8 innings

SLEEPY EYE — Stark defeated Sleepy Eye 18-6 on Friday night in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.

Mason Cox led Stark with three hits and four RBIs, while David Surprenaut added two hits and three RBIs. Zach Haala got the win on the mound in four innings with four strikeouts.

Sleepy Eye was led by Luke Mielke and Matt Mielke, who each had two hits, with Luke Mielke adding three RBIs. Matt Mielke took the loss for the Indians in 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs.

Essig 12, Gibbon 2, 8 innings

ESSIG — Essig downed Gibbon 12-2 on Friday night in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.

Jay Helget led the Bluejays with three hits and three runs scored, while Kyle Krzmarzick added two hits and four RBIs. Sam Hansen got the win in seven innings of work, giving up just five hits and a walk.

For the Reds, Devon Schwarzrock had two hits to lead the way on offense. Nolan Huiras took the loss in four innings, giving up 10 hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
