LESTER PRAIRIE — Minnesota Valley Lutheran swept Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 25-19, 25-12, 25-23 in nonconference volleyball action on Monday night.

Maddie Pearson had 21 set assists and 10 digs for MVL, while Mara Weisensel had 12 kills. Emma Nelson also had 10 kills for MVL, while Abbie Riederer had three kills and three ace serves.

The Chargers (10-4, 3-0) are at New Ulm Cathedral for a 7 p.m. Tomahawk Conference match Tuesday.

Girls’ tennis

Chanhassen 6,

New Ulm 1

CHANHASSEN — Chanhassen downed New Ulm 6-1 in girls’ tennis action on Monday.

Bethany Janssen and Lauren Mages won in No. 1 doubles for the Eagles 6-4, 3-6, 10-4. Chanhassen swept all other matchups, however, with Lauren Spear defeating New Ulm’s Makiah Otto in No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1, Emma Oyen defeating Abby Hietala in No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2, Sam Von Rentzell defeating Malia Emerson 6-1, 6-3 in No. 3 singles and Alaina Gerding defeating Lydia King in No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-2.

In No. 2 doubles, Bella Plath and Josie Hertman defeated Ellie Wilker and Gabby Sammons 6-4, 6-0, while Megan Miller and Sara Thomas defeated Emily Guggisberg and Katie Wilker 6-0, 6-1.

New Ulm hosts Fairmont Tuesday.

Girls’ soccer

New Ulm 2, Waseca 1

WASECA — The New Ulm girls’ soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over Waseca on Monday night in Big South Conference soccer action.

Bryn Nesvold scored first for New Ulm 10 minutes in off of an assists from Paige Kalis, while Livia Reinarts scored 25 minutes in on an assist from Bekah Friendshuh.

Kendra Nesvold had 16 saves for the Eagles, who had 15 shots on goal.

New Ulm (8-4-1) is at Marshall Thursday.
