• Lothert earned the Tomahawk Conference girls’ golf championship after she shot a 90 on Day 3 of the conference tournament last Monday.

• She followed up that performance by winning a triangular Thursday at Sanborn against Red Rock Central and Mountain Lake Area by shooting a solid 41.

Lothert led after two rounds at last year’s Tomahawk Conference meet but lost to her teammate on Day 3. This year, it was her event to win. So far, she has a season average of 44.

“It feels good because I finally did it,” Lothert said. “Last year definitely did not turn out the way I wanted it to with the last meet, and I didn’t have a good day. So this year, coming through and pulling out of the bad slump that I was in and doing what I had to do to get it done makes me feel accomplished.”
