Government out of control

To the editor: Our government is bursting at the seams, carrying a 31 trillion dollar debt and climbing swiftly to crush our economy completely which we are on the brink of at present. Interest alone on this debt is 640 billion dollars per year; a debt that will never be paid off. Stop spending, D.C. Cut all the pork bills and payouts to lobbyists with endless wasteful, brainless, spending while corruption runs rampant all across government. To the editor: I have remained silent after the disastrous 2022 elections in Minnesota. I have to say I dreaded what total Democrat control would bring to our State. The Democrats didn’t disapoint. The Easter season brings some similarities to mind. In Jesus’ time, things had to get worse (His death) before things could get better (His resurrection). Nursing home nightmares

To the editor: January 2022 my husband had a massive stroke. He spent two weeks at Abbott Hospital. COVID kept us from seeing him. When he was due to come home, we wanted to do rehab at home. Despite having health care directives in place and not wanting nursing home care, someone made choices for us we had no say in. Feb. 14 he was brought to a care center. The driver gave staff an information packet. Staff went home. Since he had a feeding tube nobody knew how much to feed him as nothing was in their computer system. Feb. 15, our first day. Social Security being destroyed

To the editor: Forty years ago, reforms were done to the Social Security Fund/system. With the government corruption rampant now and the government constantly borrowing from the Social Security Fund and Medicare, this entire system will be totally defunct and destroyed in ten years or less, especially since not enough workers are paying in any longer, all of which is taxation on the monies earned to begin with. Nursing homes need help now

To the editor: I am writing on behalf of our rural Minnesota nursing homes. The situation is very critical at this time for our elderly, Veterans and all of our Minnesota residents who are in need of 24-hour skilled nursing care. This shutdown would affect your Mom and Dad, close relatives and friends, our Vets or even yourself at some point in your life. When, or if, that time comes for needed long or short-term care, where will they be placed if no professional facility is available nearby?
