Reading too much on Hunter Biden — what about Ivanka and Jared Kushner?

To the editor:

The FBI, Department of Justice, and IRS are not only not weaponized they have moved slowly and cautiously on issues relating to Trump in order to restore trust and faith in them. We read too much about Hunter Biden and nothing about Trumps family. Where is the outrage over the Chinese government granting a total of 41 trademarks to companies linked to Ivanka Trump by April of 2019? The $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia with annual management fees of $25 million to Jared Kushner? What about the Trump organization on some occasions charging the Secret Service more than five times the government rate to stay at Trump-owned properties to the tune of $1.4 million? Our tax payer dollars “hard at work?”

Attorney General Garland “should be impeached for lying to the American people.” If lying was an impeachable offense most of the Republicans in Congress would have been impeached along with Trump. Crisis in Cuba? China has been operating a spy base in Cuba since at least 2019, part of a global effort by Beijing to upgrade its intelligence-gathering capabilities. Who was in the White House in 2019? LGBTQ a month and Christ one day? What day? Christmas, Easter; Christians can attend services multiple days a week as well as reading daily devotionals, attend Bible study and pray.

How often and when is your own choice. If you are a Christian we can peacefully coexist if we want to. A partial list of Biden’s accomplishments to date include:

1. The American Rescue Plan, allotting $7.25 billion for small business loans to keep them from going under.

2. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will repair the nation’s roads, bridges and railways, bring high-speed internet to rural communities. Key GOP leaders Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky supported the legislation.

3. The first major gun-safety bill in decades after the horrific shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, N.Y. which together claimed the lives of 19 children and 12 adults.

4. The CHIPS Act of 2022 allocating federal funding to manufacture semiconductor chips in the U.S. instead of relying on China.

5. The Inflation Reduction Act.

6. Support for Ukraine’s Defense.

7. Unemployment rate has dropped from 6.3% to 3.8% in August. The economy added 12.6 million jobs under Biden, putting the total 3.2 million higher than before the pandemic.

8. Manufacturing jobs have risen every month except two.

9. Average weekly earnings for rank-and-file workers went up 11.3%.

10. Most Federal Judges appointed since Reagan.

11. Restored our strong alliance with our NATO partners.

Not bad at all for a guy who “can’t do his job.” I’m proud of him. I know my letter won’t change any minds. As Thomas Dewar said, “Minds are like parachutes, they only function when open” and unfortunately open minds seem to be in seriously short supply these days.
