Trump’s behavior is depressing
To the editor:
Is this who we want as the leader of our country? Based on newspaper reports and national television news reports:
• Instigates an insurrection of the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, because he didn’t like the election results.
• Without evidence or facts, gutted numerous federal programs affecting critical health, science, and education endeavors, costing tens of thousands of jobs.
• Pals with a convicted child molester (EPSTEIN), as he (TRUMP) is a multi convicted felon himself. Morally bankrupt.
• For no reason other than being a vindictive bully, establishes numerous questionable tariffs, including on many of our best allies, actually hurting US citizens, farmers, and businesses more than they are hurting his targets.
• Helped congress pass the Genius Act bill, allowing him and his family to launch World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture, which so far has generated in excess of $1 BILLION in realized gains for the family, with overall holdings of in excess of $5 Billion.
• Attacked Venezuela, took out their president, takes over $500 million of Venezuelan oil money, puts this money in banks in Qatar, controlled by himself.
• Creates the “Board of Peace”. Names himself CEO. Charges each country $1 Billion. He has sole veto power over everything.
• Tries to muscle Greenland away from Denmark. Threatens every European country who fights him on this with exorbitant tariffs.
• Brings in over 3,000 ICE agents into Minneapolis because he doesn’t like the politicians. They break into the houses of US citizens. They have killed US citizens. They have disrupted businesses and the lives of thousands of US citizens. Because he doesn’t like the Minnesota politicians.
• These few examples suggest to me that President Trump is more interested in his own power and wealth than he is in the interests and welfare of the citizens of our country, or following the constitution or the laws of the land.
• The most recent AP poll shows that American confidence in the economy is at its lowest since 2014. While the stock market is at an all time high, it was also at an all time high ten years ago and twenty years ago, suggesting that it continues to go up, not because of President Trump.
I am a lifelong Republican. It depresses me to see what the Republican party is allowing to happen to our country because we have an unfit president. President Trump has to go.
