We have leaders who resist indoctrination
To the editor:
I wholeheartedly agree with the overarching message from Mrs. Thom’s previous letter; indoctrination is indeed quite scary and dangerous! Take for example the deliberate misinformation being spread regarding CRT by the American Experiment, one of the leaders in indoctrinating well intentioned individuals into fearing a boogeyman that quite literally does not exist outside of law school classrooms.
I for one have attended a number of anti-CRT events in an attempt to understand how they are managing to brainwash intelligent people across the country into believing their claims. At every event, without fail, there has been a push for privatizing education in our country, along with a sales pitch for different “alternative” education materials parents and schools can purchase to protect their children from this imagined danger.
It does not take a very deep Google search to identify where the funding for this illustrious think tank originates and to see where the profits from these events and their subsequent merchandise purchases ends up.
I am very grateful that here in New Ulm we have leaders on our school board and within our district who are able to resist the indoctrination being peddled by groups striving for personal profit and instead work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for all of our students.
