Why I voted NO
To the editor:
Last week I voted NO on the school board referendum. Why? Simply because I do not trust our school board. Why do I feel that way? Well, when we asked if CRT is being discussed for the curriculum at NU Public schools, we were loudly told NO it is not. Well, what exactly is this three year strategic plan they are doing? They hired the consulting firm of Longview Education. From Longview Education’s webpage, under their Beliefs tab, the first paragraph states “We know that anti-racism and equity are both personal and structural so we build enough understanding to shift mindsets, build skills, and transform practices and systems.” Read more on their beliefs at longvieweducation.org and decide for yourself.
The school board may not call it CRT but they are not fooling anyone who has done their own research on it. I will continue to vote NO until we have a school board that truly represents its constituents.
