To the editor:

We are writing this letter in support of candidate Larry Mack for the position of New Ulm City Council President.

This summer we purchased the old Hauenstein Brewery and are new to this remarkable community. The previous owner introduced us to Larry Mack. One of the reasons we feel so welcome is Larry’s positive energy and passion to help others. He has assisted us with many things from finding gravel for our driveway, to connecting with the historian to research our Hauenstein lineage. Larry is resourceful not only because he knows many people in New Ulm, both business owners and private citizens, but because he takes the time to get to know people’s skills and talents. In this day and age, it is important to have a responsible and responsive representative in government like Larry.

We have found Larry to offer intelligent and creative solutions to both small as well as larger community wide questions. He is forward thinking and truly cares about the constituents of New Ulm. Larry understands the issues at heart: the balance between incentivizing growth to remain relevant and vital, while protecting the unique character of the city and the quality of life of its citizens. His opinions are fair, and he is generous with his time — he represents the best of what a public servant should be. We look forward to what Larry has to bring and in joining this community’s vision.
