Kathryn Ann Moe
Kathryn Ann Moe, age 83, of New Ulm, formerly of Springfield, Minnesota, died on June 12, 2022, at New Ulm Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 1-4 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Kathryn Ann Jacoby was born to Elmer and Ledwina (Schottenbauer) Jacoby on Sunday, Oct. 23, 1938. She was one of six children, five of whom survived to adulthood. Kathy passed away at the New Ulm Hospital on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 83. Kathy went to grade school in Clements and graduated from Springfield High School in 1956. She went on to Mankato State Teacher’s College to receive a diploma in elementary education. Kathy was married to Charles George Moe on Nov. 27, 1958. They settled on a farm east of Springfield along the Cottonwood River and spent 53 years there before moving into Springfield. Kathy and Charlie were married for 56 years. Charlie died in 2014. Kathy was living in New Ulm at the time of her death. Kathy worked on the farm side by side with Charlie until their retirement. She learned many crafts and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. For 25 years she and Charlie traveled to many craft fairs and made many friends. Kathy enjoyed walks along the Cottonwood River that ran through their farm. Kathy enjoyed spending time in nature. Both volunteered their time at the Springfield Museum and Springfield Library. Kathy was an avid reader and volunteered many hours at the Springfield Library, Springfield Museum and Brown County Historical Society.
Kathy is survived by their two children: Barb Moe of Mankato and Ken (Kayla) Moe of Springfield; five grandchildren: John (Brianna), Derek and fiancée Alli, Kristopher (Abby), Alex, Jessica and friend Kyle; one great-grandson, Elliott; brothers: Richard (Lorraine) Jacoby, George (Sylvia) Jacoby; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Jim) Jacoby; sister-in-law, Kathy (Stephen) Bloom; and many talented nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; her parents, Elmer and Ledwina Jacoby; in-laws, Clarence L. and Hertha Moe; brother, James; sister, Donna Talley; and baby brother, Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Springfield Area Historical Society, Springfield Public Library or donor’s choice.
