Gerald Edward Scheibel was born on Sept. 25, 1938 in New Ulm to Armund and Viola (Hillesheim) Scheibel. He started school at St. John the Baptist Catholic School and later attended Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. After high school, Gerald served in the United States Army from June 1957 until March of 1959. On May 11, 1963, Gerald was united in marriage to Marion Zangel at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity in New Ulm. They were blessed with five children whom they raised in New Ulm where he worked as a dairy and crop farmer. He loved being outside, going on drives to check out the countryside, working with driving and draft horses, and scooting around on his John Deere Gator. When he wasn’t outside, he could be found socializing with his breakfast groups or spending time with his family. Gerald was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Searles Baseball Association. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
