Anne Marie Kujawa

SANBORN — Anne Marie Kujawa, age 83 of Sanborn, died on February 7, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the St. Thomas Oratory in Sanborn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Thomas Oratory in Sanborn on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Father Phil Schotzko.

Interment will be at the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Anne Marie (Pint) Kujawa was born November 21, 1935, in Springfield, MN the daughter of Joseph and Elsa Pint. She graduated from Sanborn High School then attended secretarial school in Minneapolis. Anne Marie was married to Frank Kujawa on July 14, 1956, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. She was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, and directed the choir. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano at home. Anne Marie was active in the community and enjoyed visiting with others. She was a talented artist who found beauty in everything. Anne Marie painted signs, wedding invitations, murals, portraits, nature scenes, and more. She created the character “Oaky” for Oak Grove Dairy and really enjoyed bringing the character to life in her work. She was involved in the annual “Art in the Park”, “Watermelon Days”, and “Hometown Christmas” events in Sanborn. Anne Marie worked at the Sanborn Public School, Sanborn Elevator, Springfield Floral, and the Sanborn Sentinel newspaper where she wrote a weekly article for the paper. Anne Marie was a kind and loving mother who always treated her children with respect.

Anne Marie Kujawa died Thursday, February 7, 2019, at St. John’s Circle of Care in Springfield at the age of 83 years.

She is survived by her sons- John (Louisa) of Mankato, MN, Steve (Amy) of Blaine, MN, and Tom (Toni) of Forest City, IA; grandchildren Derek, Jaime, Jed, Nick, Chris, Katie, Matthew, and Samuel; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Kujawa; parents Joseph and Elsa Pint; son Matt; sisters Geraldine and LaVanche (Pip); and brothers Harleth (Bud) and Pete.
