Loretta Mae Becker was born Oct. 6, 1930 on the family farm in Harris, Iowa to Herbert and Ellen (Anderson) Welker. When she was a child her family moved to a farm near Litchfield. Loretta graduated from Litchfield High School and then worked as a bookkeeper at the International Harvester Dealer and Litchfield Produce Co. Loretta met Leonard Becker in 1950 and they were married Aug. 3, 1952 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield. They made their home in Olivia and were blessed with four children. After the children were older she worked at the Red Owl Store, Olivia Schools, Coast-to-Coast Store, and Tersteeg’s Grocery Store. Loretta was a very faithful and active member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was a leader for Lutheran Girl Pioneers, President of the Ladies Aid, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active in the Senior Citizens and AAL, now Thrivent. She had enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, reading, gardening, and making quilts for all the grandchildren. Loretta will be fondly remembered for her incredible heart as well as always putting her family first….and the grandchildren will definitely miss her “red lipstick kisses”!

Loretta is survived by her four children and their spouses: Bruce (and Pamela) Becker of Rochester, Linda (and Peter) Neigebauer of Courtland, Sandra (and Peter) Lundin of Allen, NE, and Brian (and Mary Jo) Becker of Conifer, CO; her eight grandchildren: Anne Becker, Michael (and Mallory) Becker and their daughter London, Kathryn (and David) Vasquez and their sons Lucas, Andres, Tomas, and Mateo, Kristen (and Amanuel) Medhanie and their sons Noah and Solomon, Kelsey Neigebauer, Matthew Becker, Benjamin Becker, and Daniel Becker; her brother-in-law LeRoy Runke; her sister-in-law Doris Welker; and her very dear friend Doris Clouse. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard; her granddaughter Lisa Marie Neigebauer; her sister Betty Runke; and her brothers: Carl Welker and Lawrence Welker.
