New Ulm Police • Responded to an adult group home at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday. A crystal-like substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine was found and seized in a room. All three residents denied the drugs belonged to them. The meth was offered as evidence. A report was done for documentation. • Arrested a 52-year-old New Ulm man for an equipment violation at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday at German and 19th St. S. Impairment signs were observed on the driver. New Ulm Police • Responded to a Wal-Mart theft report at 4:50 p.m. Friday. A suspect fled in a vehicle heading towards Sleepy Eye on Highway 14. Wal-Mart employees believe a woman with the man is responsible for more than $52,000 in stolen Wal-Mart items across the country. The man and woman were not located and their license plate could not be seen on surveillance photos. New Ulm Police • Took an 8 p.m. Sunday report of a combative 12-year-old New Ulm girl making homicidal comments and showing self-harm indications after she was cleared at New Ulm Medical Center. The girl was transported to Carver County Juvenile Detention Center. New Ulm Police • Responded to Hy-Vee Foods at 11:34 p.m. Sunday for a report of a male with a crowbar and possibly a handgun found in the store after it closed. A Hy-Vee employee told the man to leave and followed him outside. The suspect was seen walking near the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, north of Hy-Vee Foods, wearing a mask, black stocking cap, black sweatshirt, raised hood, dark-colored jeans, blue gloves and a black belt. New Ulm Police • Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 6:55 p.m. Thursday at Broadway and 17th North St. A 2007 Ford F150 driven eastbound by Jason Louis Mangen, 53, Sleepy Eye, collided with a northbound 2016 Ford Explorer driven by Isaiah Rashaan Cummings, 30, New Ulm. Damage was moderate, disabling to the front end of both vehicles, causing them to be towed. Both drivers wore seatbelts.

Police will post surveillance on their Facebook site. • Took a Wal-Mart theft report at 3:45 p.m. Friday involving $1,339.27 worth of items stolen from December 2025 to January 2026. Suspects are 30 year-old and 24-year-old Lake Crystal men.
